Shahu – Mahim Art District, Mumbai
Fresko studio has always been keen to collaborate with artists / NGO / individual initiatives which can transform public spaces and experience. We got involved with Sajid again, this time to paint a building facade in Mahim Art District. The result, we painted over 3200 sq.ft. of the area in 4 days. Met the localities, fought with one and drank plenty of sugarcane juice.
This mural depicts the arrival of a great king which is synonymous with the arrival of good times. With the king portrayed on the left, musical celebrations upon his arrival can be seen painted on the right. Here, music is symbolic of the restoration of harmony. The two walls have a dialogue as they compliment each other with the royal blue color to symbolize honesty and trustworthiness, elegance, riches, and sophistication.
